| Editorial Reviews:
Album Details The 'classical Indian Collection' is a Unique Double CD Exploring the Many Subtle Connections that Bridge Indian and Western Classical Music. Avoiding the More Fashionable East-west Fusion Exemplified by the Dance-floor Asian Underground, it Draws Its Downtempo, Blissful Power from Strong Arrangements (Talvin Singh), Ethereal Flutes (Hariprasad Chaurasia), Hypnotic Percussion (Zakir Hussain) and the Languid, Cascading Notes of the Sitar (Ravi Shankar). Sourced Diversely from Symphonic Classical Fusions, Indo-jazz Projects, Hindi Movie Soundtracks and Downtempo, More Clubby Fusions of the Asian Diaspora, 'the Classical Indian Collection' Assembles the Very Best Musicians and Singers and the Very Best Sounds.

| Customer Reviews:
The Very Best of India May 8, 2008 This has become my favorite Indian music CD. It really has a great variety of musicians ranging from Ravi Shankar to Hariprasad Chaurasia. Wonderful music like Appa by Badmarsh & Shri, which I can listen to over and over again. The great Gayatri mantram sung by Yesudas and much more. Furthermore, great Western musicians combine Western instruments with Indian ones resulting in melodius masterpieces like Alice Coltrane's Rhade Shyam. If you love Indian music and the best of Indian music, this is a must. I am amazed that this CD is hardly available in stores. You will not regret getting this double CD.
