Product Description New presentation out of the treasure of the legendary artist A.R. Rahman, this soundtrack is Rahman's first Tamil composition after the success of Oscar Winning Slumdog Millionaire. Combining 7 songs in some of the greatest voices like Benny Dayal, Shreya Ghoshal, A.R. Rahman himself and innumerable other singers, the album's lyrics are penned by Thamarai. The album features six songs in Tamil and Malayalam plus one theme track by composer A.R. Rahman himself. As Rahman scores for the first time for a Gautham Menon film, the album was released on 19 December 2009 in London with several film personalities participating at the grand function. This was the first time that a Tamil movie audio release was held in London. This CD is a sure buy for all Rahman fans. You just can't miss this one!

New and completely refreshing album from Rahman May 14, 2010 Amazon.com Buyer (New Haven, CT) All the songs are completely fresh and refreshing. Goes in my to 10 Rahman albums.
A definite masterpiece! May 9, 2010 Jahanzeb Farooq (Denmark) Maestro A.R.Rahman's latest Tamil offering is definitely a modern time masterpiece and one of his finest Tamil albums. The man who started his career with Tamil film Roja in 1992 offers a completely fresh and innovative music even after 18 years. This man is a true genius. I don't understand Tamil but just cannot miss any of the music this man is creating anywhere on the planet. Furthermore when it comes to music, and especially Rahman's music, it has no language. I am head to toe love with Omana Penne, Hosanna, Mannipaaya and Aromale.
Go get it .... no two words (however if you are a Western listener and haven't tried Rahman's top works yet e.g. Dil Se.., Bombay, Taal, Thiruda Thiruda (Chor Chor), Saathiya, Lagaan, Delhi 6, Kandukondain Kandukondain, Minsara Kanavu (Sapnay), go for them first.
Wonderful music - Once again by Rahman February 26, 2010 Saravanakumar 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wonderful songs, typical A.R. Rahman differentiating from the contemporary. Can't wait to see it on Screen.
Autotuned and Generic February 26, 2010 rvjax (irvine,ca) 1 out of 14 found this review helpful
To all the Rahman fanboys who gave all five star ratings..WTF!!!.. this was another generic autotuned album from rahman. He is sure talented n all. But why do u fail to agree, this was a complete letdown.
Omana pennae- wat the hell?? Autotuned all the way. Did he think that, those folks living down south of india don't know these tricks?? Bad song. Same thing with oramale.
Hosanna was catchy, but I think after a week, I m gonna forget it.
Other songs: I listened to them for like 5 times today and they are no good. Now I want my time back. I think he makes only good songs for mani ratnam and for those "big" movies. I don't know why these tamil directors keep bothering rahman for music. Now, wats the point of this review. Nothing really, I got pissed off by all five stars given to the album. btw I paid this album.
Stunning! February 19, 2010 Piervincenzo Crida (italy) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A stunning new soundtrack . Back to his roots of the good old Chennai Sound. But with a new musical approch.Every track is not a traditionally song in the usual way, but an harmonic blending of musical themes and beat, full of delightful surprises. (Something like what he did in the 90' with "Anthimantarai" soundtrack, and later with "Warriors of heaven and earth"...). Thank you, Rahman, from all of us , discriminating music and sufi lovers all over the world.
