Essential reading November 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Hoofcare is a multimillion dollar industry, which thrives upon ignorance and biased unfounded assumptions.
This book is like no other because it enquires, questions and then provides information, essential to help us all understand the complexities of hoof balance. Did you know that most horses have differing sized hooves?
This book explains that, how the horse stands and then moves influences hoof shape and that how we manage those hooves affects the well-being of the horse...deep stuff for a book on horse's feet!
Apart from all that it's a damn good read!!! The beautiful illustrations support the text well and enhance its readability. I found it well thought out and pleasantly presented...enjoy!
As a post script, I would like to add that if I were to recommend another book then that book would be Straightening the Crooked Horse; the two books compliment each other so very well.
