Product Description These are 100% cotton tabi socks from Japan. They are available in white with a white sole or black with a white sole. Each tabi has 3 tin tab closures on the ankle. These tabi socks have a heavier cotton sole for indoor use or use with zori sandals. The tabi are sized by INCH SIZE, NOT SHOE SIZE. To find your inch size, stand on a piece of paper and make an outline of your bare foot, with your pencil ALWAYS PERPENDICULAR to the floor. This is very important and will allow room for your heel. Measure the drawing from the tip of your longest toe to the end of your heel. **IMPORTANT!!! If you are in-between sizes or have doubts because you are worried about shrinkage, ROUND UP to the next 1/2 inch size. MEDIUM width only. These tabi may not fit a wider foot. Hand or machine gentle wash in cold water, line dry. Machine drying may shrink the tabi socks.PLEASE REMEMBER YOU ARE ORDERING INCH LENGTH, NOT IN SHOE SIZES.

white cotton tabi socks, ankle-length November 26, 2008 I love these. They are just like the ones we wore in our house when I was a kid, with zories (white shag carpetsare difficult to keep clean). Only drawback is: they are a bit pricey. They are sturdy, but still a bit high.
Exactly what I wanted December 17, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These were exactly what I was looking for: good Japanese-style socks to wear with my hakama in aikido. Choosing the size wasn't a big deal. I measured just as described. I have skinny feet so they were a little baggy so I simply washed them in hot water and put them in the dryer on high.
Just an fyi for anyone looking for something a little stickier: the sole doesn't have quite as much tread as I would like. I think it has more to do with our mats than anything else--tatami style judo mats--so movement is a bit of an adjustment.
good quality October 11, 2007 I am overall happy with these. They may have to stretch out depending on your foot so there may be a break in period. One thing I noticed is that they smelled funny when I got them so I washed them first to get rid of it.
very pleased August 12, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I ordered the correct size for my foot, having worn tabis for many years. These are as I remembered and I am very pleased with them. The quality is excellent as is the "House of Rice". I recommend them without reservation.
Tabi socks order them bigger! May 7, 2007 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
The quality of the product is excellent, I had a little trouble with the sizes, when I ordered the size number 9.5, after seeing my nike tennis shoes (US 9.5), I expected them to be the same size as my tennis shoes. They were much smaller, I measured my foot and it measured 10.5 inches exactly, so i exchanged them. They fit just right standing up, but the fabric is not flexible, so when i was doing my katas of Muso Jikinden Eishin Ryo Iaijutsu (sword drawing), i had to flex my foot repeatedly and then it would get too tight, so i sent them back again and got them size 11, they fit perfect and dont bother when flexing the foot. My recommendation: order them 0.5 inches bigger than the actual measurement of of your foot with a ruler. If they are too big you can shrink them in the dryer, if they are too small you will have to pay for S&H.
